Turn Up and Play was a massive success at Tranmere Rovers Football Club this summer with sessions being held on a daily basis at the Recreation Centre at Prenton Park.
The Turn Up and Play initiative is in association with TRIC (Tranmere Rovers In the Community) has proved to be a great success in bringing the wider Wirral community together through their love of football ahead of the new school term.
TRIC’s FA Qualified coaches where on hand to assist and oversee participants, with sessions being twice a week and for boys and girls and a further two sessions running bi-weekly for girls only and our junior disability team. Turn Up and Play is a great way for children to keep active and make new friends.
TRIC coach Faye is pleased with the success of the Turn Up and Play has received, and has encouraged others to give it a go.
She said: “The kids are active and engaged and coaches love it here, it’s a fantastic experience for everyone involved.”
“I’d encourage anyone to come and try it.”
Paul Morrison, Academy Operations Manager at TRFC, said: “It’s been really well attended. We’ve had a mixed range, the youngest we’ve has been six up to 14. We’ve had boys and girls who have all combined well and played well and it has been really fun.”
